Good Afternoon Brant Curling
The Board is excited to share with you that the Club has been awarded the Community Building Fund-Capital Stream Grant through The Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The Brant Curling Club received a Government of Ontario’s Community Building Fund – Capital stream grant. The grant delivered by the Ontario Trillium Foundation over 12 months will help Brant Curling Club address a community need by upgrading the ice-making machinery and insulating the ice shed, extending use of the facility.
This grant will allow us to Insulate and add Corrugated Steel Siding to the exterior of the Ice Shed. Giving the club a whole new look and make the ice shed much more efficient.
We will also be replacing the ice plant equipment. This includes new compressor, new condenser, new chiller, new dehumidifier, new brine pump and condenser pump. This will extend the life of the facility significantly. The capital committee has secured pricing and contracts and the board has accepted them. Work will be going on the exterior as soon as whether permits and the ice plant work will be completed during the off season and be ready to go for September start up.
I can’t thank the Grants Committee enough for all of their hard work on the application process. They worked very diligently to ensure our application met all the required standards and went above and beyond working with Trillium to make this happen.
Our Capital Improvements Committee also needs a huge Thank You. They have worked with the contractors on identifying our needs and working thought the very challenging pricing process.
It is this kind of dedication from our Members and Volunteers that makes our club special and embodies our Motto: Where Friends Meet.
